I need a new job- I'm a 22-y.o. female and thinking about being a delivery driver? Is that a good job?

The reason I ask is how do you know where to go? Do you have to use a map or do they give you a printout of where you have to go each time? I think it would be a good job, but the thing is I'm terrible w/ directions! just in general...I don't have a very good sense of direction or inner-navigation inside me.... will this be okay to stil apply for that kind of job? I just think it would be a cool job to be out and about and feel like i'm doing something- I do NOT want an office job..

Since you are a young woman I would just caution you that there are a lot of creepy people out there who order in! Maybe you could deliver in the daylight hours and it would be safer. As for your poor sense of direction, try memorizing streets and get a compass for your dashboard or better yet, get a GPS. Good luck! You will definely make good tips being a girl!
Reply:I used to be a delivery driver for a pizza chain and there was a huge map on the wall that we could refer to when we had to make a delivery. If you're not good with directions and you have a terrible sense of inner-navigation, I wouldn't suggest you be a delivery driver. In a position like this, "time is money" and you don't want to waste a lot of time getting lost. Try getting a job as a mail carrier or something, you'll be out and about and you'll also be exposed to quite a few breed of dogs. :)
