Finding Driving Jobs - RV Delivery, Straight Trucks, Truck Driving?

Does anyone know where to find jobs such as delivering Motorhomes and buses?
Finding Driving Jobs - RV Delivery, Straight Trucks, Truck Driving?
Don't know the companies names in the US but there are several near each of the manufacturers. They normally hire brokers with pickup trucks and who can supply drivers to do this. Many mfrs do not supply drivers themselves as it is easier to contract this out. So look online for hotshot delivery and then the rv delivery services. There is a web site for this.

Truck driving straights or tractors is a business that for years had a major demand for new drivers. Now that is not the case but will be in a few more months as the current slowdown will cause many to leave the industry.

There are the expedite companies who hire brikers (guys with their own trucks) and fleet owners who have trucks they want to put drivers into. This is the express deliver part of trucking but also can mean a bit of waiting for a call to take you either around the corner or across the country. Never know where you'll be going.

Many transport or local companies are looking for drivers for trucks so some local and long distance opportunities do exist. You will need a commercial drivers lic for the area you live in. Most have new type training programs so you can be travelling with an experineced driver for a few weeks.

So start hunting companies either locally (larger tansport companies) at the depots and another route is to approach driver agencies. Several exist in major cities as companies are always looking for drivers.

UPS has a lot of big hubs here. They are usually looking for drivers.

Reply:Did you look in your local paper? I am on the other side of the country and looked in your wash post and found a few. I guess that would require some effort on your part. Maybe you would just like us to offer you a job so you don`t have to do any search at all. I hope you can fill out a job app. Good luck

Does anyone know of a delivery job that does not need a CDL license and you go home every night?

I guess I am looking for a job like USPS delivery or something but exactly what I want is any job where I work like a normal daytime 8 hour shift (like 6-2 or 7-3...9-5) where my primary job is driving. Does anyone know of a job like that and know how to get into that job?

I live in the US but I would venture to say that you could contact the distribution/delivery department of whatever the local newspaper is and ask them these same questions. I have no idea of what child labor laws there are in London, so you'd have to contact them.

If you have a paper route delivery job is the mileage tax deductible?

If you're using your personal vehicle, be sure to keep accurate records of the miles driven on the paper route. When you file your taxes, you need to complete a Schedule C to report all your business expenses. Usually, for newspaper delivery, the mileage is the largest amount. Be sure to check to see what the authorized Standard Mileage Rate is when you're filing (I think it was 48.5 cents per mile for 2007). You can get all the correct information at the Internal Revenue website (irs.gov)
If you have a paper route delivery job is the mileage tax deductible?
Yes it is deductible. As an independent contractor, you can claim this as long as your Newspaper does not reimburse you. Check out the IRS gov. web site for more info. Talk to an experienced newspaper carrier who claims it.
Reply:If you use your own car, and if the place you work for DOESN'T reimburse mileage. If they reimburse you than you can't claim it on taxes.
Reply:The miles you drive for business such as the paper route are deductible.
Reply:Only if you use a car.

Do you need to report a delivery job on auto Insurance?

If I got a job where I need to use my car for work, do I need to report it to my auto insurance, and if so, will my rates go up?
Do you need to report a delivery job on auto Insurance?
Call your insurance company right away and ask!

There is no uniform answer to either question. Usually, the usage of the vehicle (commute, business, or pleasure) is primarily for informational purposes, not rating purposes.

It is important to divulge your delivery job to your insurance company because they may deny a claim based on their lack of that knowledge. Note that they "MAY" deny a claim, not that they would automatically deny any and all claims. That is why it is critical that you call your insurance company and ask how they would handle your specific situation.
Reply:Yes and Yes. If you don't notify your insurance, they will not pay a claim. Sometimes you can claim a deduction on your taxes for mileage and insurance if it is job related.
Reply:Yes, if you're using your vehicle for work, you need to inform your insurance compay. And yes, most likely your premiums will increase due to the increased risk of an accident, because your vehicle is being driven more.
Reply:Most standard auto insurance policies do not cover vehicle use for business purposes. Commuting to/from work is not considered business use. Delivering pizzas, running service calls, deliveries, etc are considered business use. If involved in an accident while on business, your insurance may not be obligated to pay.
Reply:I think much better to inform them because they will still discover it. On this situation it will affect your rates but depending on your car insurance if how much they will impose to your rate. You can try to visit this site http://www.nightbirdssolutions.com for your reference.
Reply:It would be better if you did. There could be a problem with payment if they find out. Companies have statistics on the average number of miles most people drive per year. This is used, along with, statistics on how many miles are driven on average before an accident happens. Using your vehicle for work purposes increases your miles driven. Your rates MAY raise a bit. Most companies pay for employees who use their vehicles and this is for fuel, maintenance and insurance.
Reply:The comparison sites are the easiest way to get quotes fast, and i wish I did this at first.

How to qualify for fedex mail/package delivery job?

I do have excellent MVR record-driving record and knowledge about roads and street directions of Chicago.

Do I first need CDL license? what sort of CDL? what are the steps to qualify as fedex mail/package delivery driver? I don't mean the job of freight or big trucks.

thanks
How to qualify for fedex mail/package delivery job?
You have to have a good driving record. You do not need a CDL if you are looking to just deliver pacel post. Unfortunately, driver postitions are first posted internally and people already working get first bid on the postitions, but I have seen people get lucky before. Any other training comes with the job. Fedex is a great company to work for..good luck.

Will insurance cover an occasional driver who uses the car for a pizza delivery job?

The insured is in Canada.
Will insurance cover an occasional driver who uses the car for a pizza delivery job?
You should check with your company, but do not withhold information, or your policy could be voided. If you can prove that the car itself is used PRIMARILY as a residential vehicle and only occasionally used as a delivery vehicle, you might have no problems. In the USA, there are special rules for this, maybe you have the same thing in Canada.
Reply:If your vehicle is rated for delivery use then yes you can use it for delivering pizzas. Phone your broker/agent and ask them what the vehicle use is currently rated for.
Reply:Check with your insurance company.

Often times, a whole new set of rules apply when a vehicle is used for commercial purposes.
Reply:Bad advice, Emery J--it's called insurance fraud, and it's criminal.

Grand theft auto IV package delivery jobs?
Just try to get along well with Little Jacob, take him out and stuff. He will then offer you this job opportunity, you can access it via the cellphone by selecting Little Jacob and then Job.
Reply:First you need to meet Jacob through Roman. Increasing your friendship with Jacob through outings will result in Jacob asking you to do some delivery services for him. You don't actually see the packages, but when your doing a delivery job the game tells you the package is in a crappy car. And you must deliver the car to its destination. Sometimes you'll be under a timer, other times you'll have to contend with rival gangs and sometimes its a police bust.
Reply:I am assuming you mean for the 360 achievement? you will be able to do this after you get to know Little Jacob for a bit...he will offer you jobs, and their are 10 in all that you can do...

If I want to run for public office, is it ok if I have a part-time delivery job that pays under the table?

I am 24, so I won't be running for public office for a while though.
If I want to run for public office, is it ok if I have a part-time delivery job that pays under the table?
When you run for public office, you at some point get well veted, so it's something that is likely to come out. At some point, you don't know when.

But aside from the public office issue, you can still get in trouble. If you pay taxes on the money then at least it's only your employer that's behaving illegally, but you know about it, and it's still a problem.

Also, asking this question is stupid. Is this account connected to an e-mail address that is connected to your personal info? God luck running for public office.
Reply:Dear Mike,

_____I have had several jobs where I worked "under the table".

I see no reason to be vary concerned about it. Most such

jobs do mot pay very well and are short in duration. If you get

a "real" job, it might be a different matter.

_______Why wait on your Desire to run for public office. You

can start now! You need to learn the "ins and outs" of public

service and that takes a while. Volunteer to work for a

political party. Democratic or Republican or Libertarian will

do. Sometimes you might even get paid (a little) for your

work. Those who post the signs usually get a small wage.

If you want it, start now.
Reply:No problem... power to you. However, you need to stop talking about it. On any application or resume, this job does not exist. There is no paperwork to show that you received funds, so don't worry about it.
Reply:No, illegal immigrants are not eligible to run for public office.
Reply:Only if you run from the State of Illinois.
Reply:Buy the OBAMA book of political ethics.

ps...Make sure you read both pages.

What company puts out the most accurate GPS? I have a part time delivery job, and feel one would be useful.?

I have a map book, but think the GPS would be good. Are some brands more "accurate" than others, as I need more the door to door directions.

Thanks!
What company puts out the most accurate GPS? I have a part time delivery job, and feel one would be useful.?
They all use the same satellites and the same equation for making up the time difference when tracking you. So really any of the major brands will do. I have a cheap Gamin that has been great. It was only like $100.
Reply:As the other answer says, they use the same satellites and any brand will be as accurate as any other. This is dependent on their maps, of course. The maps have to coincide with the GPS data. It depends on how accurately they have the streets and alleys positioned.

The more important question is how sensitive is the GPS. I've known GPS receivers that lose the signal faster than others. I've also got a Garmin and it received signals where another brand couldn't. They're still all dependent on a good view of the sky. If you have a lot of trees, tall buildings, even a heavy cloud cover, the receiver may not be able to get the signal and display your position.

Question(s) about Pizza Delivery jobs...?

Hey

I was wondering what the age requirement is to be a pizza delivery driver (is that what you call them?). How much you make. I have a very clean driving record so that shouldnt be a problem.

Im 17, have my own car. Anyone out there work as a Pizza Delivery guy/girl?

Thank you in advance
Question(s) about Pizza Delivery jobs...?
You just have to be 16 and know the area well enough.

They make pretty good money off tips, but the downside is your car will smell like pizza pretty much forever. I made a $50 tip at one stop one night. Most houses tip around $4-$5.

Most employes are different with hourly pay and reimbursment for gas though.

i don't have a clue where to look for it...plz help me find a reasonable newspaper delivery job that earns like $100-$150..

btw....i live in Surrey near Guildford town shopping center..(Guildford mall)
Where could a 13 year old person like me get a newspaper delivery job?
you shouldent tell the public were you live! newspaper jobs are not the best way to earn money like that. A job you should be looking for may be cleaning up trash or recycaling cans but if you really need money fast then get a newspaper job. but i rather ask my parents advise then here!
Reply:you should try asking different retail stores in your area like Canadian tire or Wall mart to see if you can deliver flyer's, if not try asking the globe and mail, Toronto star, the star if you can deliver in your area.

Applied for a delivery job but i just got a ticket?

when they check my insurance, is the ticket going to show up? it was for a rolling stop at a stop sign. not a huge deal, and my record is clean besides that. i'm worried because i was given the ticket last week, and it hasn't arrived in the mail yet, so i haven't been able to clear it in traffic school. i don't want it to show up at a big UNPAID mark on the records. when jobs check your insurance do things like this even show up?
Applied for a delivery job but i just got a ticket?
Unless you get convicted it does not show up. In most states you can pay the ticket plus pay for driving school, attend and the ticket does not show up, because it is not a conviction.

Be sure to check the ticket and any paper work you got with it. Some states give you the info with the ticket, not later by mail. If yours is a by mail state wait a week more and then check with the issuing agency.
Reply:The charge will show but only as pending through the court and not through the DMV. If you plead guilty or found guilty then the charge is sent to the DMV which in turn will inform your insurance carrier.
Reply:Depends on the job. My advice? Go to traffic court and fight the ticket.

What should I wear to go apply for a job. (delivery driver for furniture rental)?

I'm going to go fill out an application at a furniture rental store and i'm just wondering if jeans and a black polo shirt would be suitable. i was just planning on wearing that cause it's not an office job or anything too fancy. i know when in doubt i should probably not do it but oh well. just wanna know if that would send a negative signal or anything.

Nice pair of jeans, work shirt. type of shoes optional as you most likely will wear safety shoes on the job.

Question about pizza delivery jobs?

Hi

I am thinking of being a Pizza delivery driver and wanted to know some thing about the job from people who are/were drivers themselves. the car i currently have I plan to have for as long as it will go (I have a 2003 Hyundai Elantra) so I do not need to worry about its resale value. I can only work nights. I have some questions too.

What is it like?

Aside from the driving/delivering, what else do you do?

Any other comments/suggestions I would appreciate very much. Thank you all.

your only responsibility is to delver thats it

idk what its like to work at a smaller local pizza shop

i can only imagine that the management would be nicer, but youll also have to work harder too

here, the avg tip is about $2-$3 but ive gotten ten sometimes and also i've been told "keep the change" (67 cents, gee thanks)

usually the company pays you like minumum wage + tips + maybe 50 cents per delivery which will come to about 9-16 dollars an hour - not bad for just sitting in your car listening to music the whole time

Reply:i delivered pizzas in a small town in Michigan, and it was a pretty rich little place, so that helps with the tips. Also, me being a girl- i got bigger tips than the male drivers. The only down side is the price of gas, they gave us a dollar per delivery. So if we delivered two pizzas to two separate houses- even if it was one trip, we got two dollars for that. I made great tips but I also spent a ton on gas. Try to work for the most popular place, that way you will get more deliveries. also, find out who charges for deliver and who doesnt. Its better to work for the company that does not charge because people always assume that they are giving that money to you- which is not the case, so they tip less or not at all.
Reply:BECAREFUL!! MY parents worked in the hospital and had delivery guys come in that were beat up. Because they usally have money on them. and they would steal there cars. I had a friend whohadjob kept it then went to a delivery job and diddn';t like it. then went back to hios other job. Maybe you should try that. i have never done that.. SOrry to put a damper on your pizza spirts.

Have a nice day!!!
Reply:It's relatively fun. You get to be out on the road while others are doing.. whatever. (Bring an ipod and get an adapter, listen to your favorite music!)

Honestly, I preferred to deliver for Mom and Pop type of restaurants, I seemed to get tipped pretty damn well! (Anywhere from $5-$15 per delivery).

Pantry work. Prepping foods, folding boxes, maybe a few dishes.

Not trying to scare you here... BUT!

If you do take the job, make sure you feel safe! I had gone to some bad areas. Make sure to have a cell phone. (Not necessary, but I'm guilty of having carried a knife with me.)

Long story short, a friend of mine went on a delivery, got to the house and all lights were off. Called the house and nobody was there. Dark street, bushes on both sides, (someone was going to jump him!)

If you're not great with directions, it may not be the job for you.

Best types of food delivery jobs?

Hi all - I'm a freshman in college and just quit my telemarketing job last month, and am now looking to try something new and have decided perhaps food delivery may be my bag - don't have to deal with annoying bosses and co-workers, drive around and give people food and get tipped, plus with my college schedule - it just has struck my fancy. My question is, what would be the best type of place to deliver for, and what resteraunts deliver? And where would be the best place to work to use a company car so I would not have to use my own, and if worst comes to worst and I did have to use my own car, will they pay for gas?? Answers to any of these questions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Best types of food delivery jobs?
well my bf is a delivery driver for pizza hut, and while you dont get a company car, for every delivery you make, the company gives you a dollar for gas. which is awesome, because while sometimes you really do have to go far to deliver, sometimes its up the block and you get a dollar just to drive 100 yards :]

What available jobs are there for delivery people?
I think the answer you would get depends on if your dad delivers specific items or will deliver anything. I use to work for a messenger service, and the drivers ususally used their cars to deliver almost anything. They were union drivers who got paid on a scale of 53 1/2% plus commission. Some people really made pretty good money. I think the best answer is for your dad not you to start hitting the pavement or better yet utilize the internet for some great jobs.

I just got a part-time job as a food delivery person and they are offering me $7/hour plus a partial delivery charge, plus tips, of course. What I find strange is that I don't get reimbursed for gas mileage (I have to use my own car). Is this normal? What are your thoughts/experiences?
Regarding my new delivery job: Is this normal/fair?
My daughter delivered pizza for awhile. She had to pay for her own gas, it is normal practice. The tips more than make up for what you spend on gas
Reply:Your car use is a deductible employee business expense on Form 2106. It's worth the time to learn how to use that form...$$$ in your pocket. Report Abuse

Reply:That's probably what the delivery charge covers-- I wouldn't expect to get a delivery charge and mileage-- one or the other.
Reply:This is normal because you don't claim tips.
Reply:My friend is a district manager for a pizza franchise and I called to ask him what he thought. Nearly any food service is going to pay a minumal amount of hourly pay. And getting part of the delivery charge he said isn't that common or at least not common for around here. So he said basically they are using the deleivery charge as a form of reimbursmant of mileage. His stores do not give anything for the deleivery charge, the company pockets it. However they do get a mileage reimbursmant, which if you think about it is the same thing. They are taking that money out of the charge for deleivery.

I don't think your getting treated unfairly, so I hope that helped you :)
Reply:Gary S is probably about right. What no one has told you is many insurance companies don't cover you when you use your own car this way. I would check with my insurance company. If it requires you to get some form of commercial insurance you may not even break even on this job.
Reply:well, i think you should talk to your boss for this because they should be reimbursing you.
Reply:yeah its normal. but its not worth the abuse on your car or yourself deloivering can realy suck. you can get stiffed alot
Reply:Its fair only if you agree to it. Sounds like they want you to kick in as much as possible. It is your vehicle not theirs. Guess you gotta figure what tips and PARTIAL delivery charge is. Do you get a full delivery charge if only PART of the order is delivered. ?? Maybe?

Sounds fairly normal though
Reply:Definately sounds fair for a job. MOst of them dont reimburse you for miles. They expect your tips to do that, but they dont sometimes. however it is a good type of job to have. I enjoyed it, however try to keep it on the DL with your auto insurance company cause your rates will go WAY up if they find out. At least mine did.

I have a 19 yr old who has 1 years no claims discount, looking for a delivery job, , but cannot find insurance

And what is the question? Can you hire them to deliver? No, because they don't have insurance.
I have a 19 yr old who has 1 years no claims discount, looking for a delivery job, , but cannot find insurance
although i cant give you a quote because its hard to give an accurate quote because of all the different policies and they usually run your social security number to give you the correct price BUT i found these 2 sites where you can compare insurance at http://www.COMPAREusINSURANCE.com and http://www.COMPAREeQUOTES.com that give out the best comparisons for auto insurance, i hope that helps.
Reply:The problem is that most companies insurance refuses to cover people under 21. Would be hard (if not impossible) to get his own insurance on someone elses vehicle.
Reply:Almost all insurance companies will refuse insurance to anyone under 21, if it's for commercial driving (hire or reward).

This is why most ads for delivery / lorry / haulage firms say "Must be over 21".
Reply:Try Progressive -You would have to write a commercial auto policy. But what is being delivered is very specific in insurance. That would be more of a problem than the age of the driver.

Driving record Needed for Delivery Driver Job?

I just got a job through work study where I deliver catered food to different locations on campus. I have the job but they told me before I can start training how to drive I have to have two things, a valid drivers license and a clean driving record of my last three years. My problem is that I am only 18 so it would be impossible to have three years of driving already. While I have been driving I have never gotten a ticket, moving violation, fine or an accident. So do you think I will pass the check or will they say I must have three year s of driving experience? If I don't pass it I am going to be pissed because I have already done most of the work involved (besides driving) and I really like the job and have gotten to know everyone. They do the driving record search in a few days.
Driving record Needed for Delivery Driver Job?
To have a clean record for the last three years, it do not matter if you were driving or not for all three years, just if you have a ticket or not..

What are a warehouse delivery clerk job duties?

The duties and responsibilities would have been mentioned in the offer the company has given to you. If no details are given, you are responsible for receipt of goods, checking for physical quantity, coding, stacking, and issue against release orders. You are responsible for inventory of goods moving out and coming in. You have to assist the internal auditors for their monthly random stock verification. If you are working under a ware house manager, you have to comply with other assignments that may be assigned from time to time. Some ware house clerks should know operation of fork lift for movement of materials.

Are postmen (royal mail) paid well compared to other jobs in that area? (parcel delivery)?

i am paid 8.50pence an hour and i am an royal mail employee who delivers parcels, does this match with the likes of dhl, parceline etc etc.?
Are postmen (royal mail) paid well compared to other jobs in that area? (parcel delivery)?
I think Dhl get about 拢8 an hour. Most are roughly the same. you're probably best to stick with royal mail, as it's classes as working for the queen, so ur most likely to get paid most for that lol

Is it possible to fit a morning paper delivery job, college, and part time job together? Could u do it?

?
Is it possible to fit a morning paper delivery job, college, and part time job together? Could u do it?
Hi Baddest Dude,

I'm a senior in college at one of the UC campuses, and working just 22 hours per week has been a struggle for me. The tricky part about working that much it is that when you are working more than 30 hours per week (and it sounds like you will be) everything else sort of takes second place. I tried juggling an internship and my job on top of a full time school schedule and I completely choked. I had to drop the internship midway though the quarter because it was too overwhelming.

Because things like studying and doing reading for class aren't mandatory and nobody regulates you, it's very difficult not to lose track not of your priorities. I found myself doing great at work, but then being tired and overwhelmed when it came time to study on my own.

Basically, I would pick either the paper route or the part time job. Just to warn you though, pretty much everyone I've talked to who has a paper route has strongly discouraged me from ever pursuing one. Apparantely the wear and tear on your car, coupled with the incredibly early hours and semi-decent pay aren't worth it. Besides, a part time job would probably offer you the same amount of hours and fewer days per week than a paper route, so you would be better off.

If you are in need of money to help support yourself while you're in school, apply for a FAFSA (federal student aide, all students are eligible). Here's the link:

http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/

You should also call your school's financial aide office. All colleges have financial aide departments, so whether you go to a community college, vocational school or a university you should be able to find someone to help you.

Anyways, good luck with everything and I wish you the best.
Reply:You have to be disciplined and hard working and consistent and you can achieve everyhting, wanna know the highly paid jpbs, look for in this link....
Reply:Maybe, but I will say this. If you did it and completed college and kept the job and got the papers delivered on time, you would certainly go to the top of the pile for job applications where I worked.
Reply:Yes, it's absolutely possible. I think it will take a lot of self-discipline, but if you can maintain that, I think it will probably even help you keep better grades too. It will prevent you from getting caught up in all the parties, and that's usually what destroys grades, not working.
Reply:Well, friend, if you need to do that then you can do it easily. There is nothing bad or wrong about it. That is what I think. I was also studying and for some time doing 2 or 3 jobs at the same time.

Wish you all the best!

How do i get the newspaper delivery job for my subdivision. What if someone in ur SBDV. is already doing it?

To get the job you want, you may have to take another one first.

Check with the paper you want to deliver to see another subdivision near yours needs a carrier. If you take that route, be sure to call every month (this is key) to see if the route you actually want is coming available.

This happened to my nieces and in less than 9 months they had the routes they wanted and an extra one, They are happy, happy, happy and their little brother already has his eye on the route he wants.

Where's the best place for a pizza delivery job &&&??

I am wondering what company is best to work at for pizza delivery?? What I mean by "best" is the benefits, pay, the business, tipping, reimbursement on gas, and overall best place to work....

I also am curious to know if anyone has made a living off pizza delivery as I am a college student looking for an apartment with my girlfriend just wondering if it would support it.

Thanks.
Where's the best place for a pizza delivery job %26amp;%26amp;%26amp;??
pizza hut
Reply:east oakland
Reply:Like the kids that work inside, you would probably only make

minimum wage. And then there's the gas usage. Each rest-

aurant has their own methods. Maybe even no reimburse-

ment. You'd have to call around and compare or see if they

are different with their employees. I've seen a guy inside

being called on to go and deliver when their main guy was out.

He didn't ask if someone would cover his gas, he just left

with the pizza. And it was a chain restaurant. So maybe he

didn't get his gas covered. Unless he just took down his

mileage and they added the gas to his paycheck.

I don't believe you could support yourself. I see a car with

a pizza logo on top and he lives with someone and works

late afternoons and nights. You surely can do better for an

income than delivering pizza. Walk dogs by the hour, or try

working the cashiers booth at a theatre evenings. Work part

time at a dept. store. That is still min. wage tho to start.

You'd do better as a wait person. At least you'd get tips.

Usually the benefits are nil, other than a free meal on your

shift. But maybe you could take home pizzas' that aren't

delivered for some reason. Most of the medical plans have

a deductible and aren't worth the bother. Just hope you don't

Why is it so hard to get a nursing job in Labor and Delivery?

I really wanna work in labor and delivery as an RN but it seems almost impossible to get that position. Everyone who is in it has been doing it for ten years plus and other nurses i've spoken to have been trying to get into that department for a long time and still can't. My ultimate goal is to be a Nurse Midwife so i need the L%26amp;D experience but how can i qualify to work in that dept?
Why is it so hard to get a nursing job in Labor and Delivery?
I think its difficult because there are a lot of people who want it. And because you really need to know your stuff to be working with babies. Unfortunatly I really want to be a L/D nurse too and I didnt know that it was super hard to get into. Well keep trying!
Reply:Nurses love their jobs in L%26amp;D and there is very low turnover. You're right, it's hard to get in. Persistence is your best friend. Find out the names of the nurse manager in L%26amp;D units at the local hospitals and start contacting them directly, don't just fill out online applications and expect to get results. You really have to be assertive and keep letting these people responsible for hiring know that you really want to work for them. Eventually they will get tired of hearing your name and you'll get an interview.

Keep at it and follow your dream!

Worried about my Boyfriend having a delivery job...?

My boyfriend has been looking for work for months now, he finally found a really nice job delivering flowers for a florist shop. I've known many people that have died in car accidents and I can't help but worry about him being on the road ALL DAY like that. This is literally the first job offer he's had in along time, so it's important that he keeps this job. Any advice on how to ease my worried mind? Thanks!
Worried about my Boyfriend having a delivery job...?
Think of the flowers he'll bring you?

I say good on him for trying and trying until he got himself a job, You should give him a loving hug and kiss each morning and look forward to his return at the end of his working day. He's in no more danger doing this job than doing anything else, I'd say. Your worries are understandable but unfounded.

Hey, good luck to you both!
Reply:You can't look at it like that. Just because he is driving all day doesn't mean he will be in an accident. An accident can happen just pulling out of the driveway or say the only place he went in one week was to walgreens and back , he still can get in an accident to and from walgreens.. you get what i am saying? You are being selfish and need to relax .. Just keep in contact with him during the day but do not be over obsessive... Good luck
Reply:just forget about the accident.

Is being a labor and delivery nurse a good job?

I would love to be a labor and delivery nurse but i was wondering about the conditions and the hours. I would like to have a family of my own someday and I would hope the schedule would be flexible. I would love to know all the details. Thanks
Is being a labor and delivery nurse a good job?
My cousin started that way before she worked her way up to nurse educator. She worked 10-12 hour shifts and had no say if it would be weekends, days, afternoons nor nights. For a family, you would need a good babysitter. It did however, pay very well.

Should I consider Pizza Delivery as a job ?

I already have "learner" plates on my noisy 50cc bike.
Should I consider Pizza Delivery as a job ?
That would be pretty funny! I would think it would work for you if you can keep the pizza warm. Perhaps not a career choice though. LOL Good luck!!
Reply:umm just use it as a little extra pay. your living shouldnt be based on "pizza delivery"
Reply:no, too dangerous.
Reply:of course it;s a job. it is work and your getting paid. i delivered pizza once. whether your walking, mopeding, bicycling or running it is all labor-you have to carry the pizza at some point-to someones door. feel free to use this as work reference when filling out applications, unless your getting paid under the table.
Reply:It's a good starter job.Has good tips if you are polite.
Reply:I don't think so. My brother did it for a summer and he hated it!
Reply:that could be dangerous.
Reply:my brother did that for a few summers and he liked it, sure if you think that would be something you would like to do then go for it.
Reply:It is a good summer job, but probably not a great career.
Reply:It could be a good job. Just be careful. My sister in law was one and she got several threats and was attacked a few times....she was also attempted to be pulled into a few places. If you do decide to go for the job, make sure you can defend yourself. And be ready for ANYTHING!!!! ANd be careful on your bike too!!!! Hey, maybe that'll get you bigger tips!!!! LOL
Reply:Not on a bike. Pizza is unwieldy and catches wind. You could do delivery but I would advise against Pizza.
Reply:Depends on the area you are in. If you have to deliver to "bad" neighborhoods it can be very dangerous.
Reply:If you had a car, I would say yes. I doubt that they will hire you, if you plan to deliver them on a 50cc bike. You would not be able to make the large deliveries.

If you are just looking for something for the summer, try a grocery store, retail store, hotel (you could be a bell hop), or, if you are interested in learning about the food service industry, try a restaurant, sandwich shop, or even a fast food joint.

Good luck! I had my first job when I was 8 years old, my parents would send me to the farm every summer, and I picked peas, until I got the courage (age 14), to tell them I hated it, then I went to work in the Food Service Industry, then a Grocery Store, and when I graduated, I went into the US Army.

Have a good summer!

Reply:its a nice job.my dad did that for a while.and you don't get paid much, but you get paid in tips, sometimes you get pretty good tips.especially from stoners.lol

Reply:Maybe for a little money builder and a little something for your resume, but not for a life job, you may be rushed.
Reply:yea! so when you get hungry you can just eat the pizza!

What do you think abou Pizza delivery? is it good job?

Im working as a cashier now, should i quit and get a delivery job?
What do you think abou Pizza delivery? is it good job?
My girlfriends daughter was a pizza delivery person. She made really good tips. However, the pizza place did not pay for gas, oil, that type of thing. The wear and tear on your car is your own responsibility. I guess you need to way the pros and cons. Also, when it's snowing and raining out, you're still delivering pizza!!! Snow tires, chains, whatever.... You're paying for them not the pizza company.
Reply:I think overall a delivery driver would pay a bit more. A cashier gets paid at a set rate, where as a delivery driver you get tips (money every day) as well as a check. Plus its super easy. I wouldnt say its a GREAT job, but its easy, and a paycheck.
Reply:i certainly agree with "eichingm" and that i would weigh the pros and cons before doing making your decison maybe have a sit down with you boss and see what you have to pay for and what they'll pay for gas and oil wise
Reply:do whatever u think is best!! me personally, i dont really like being a cashier and working with all those crabby people and old people with their 2 cent coupons that they cant live without!! lol but any ways.......good luck!
Reply:do you have a good car? does it use a lot of gas or oil? how much does the job pay compaired to what you earn now?
Reply:well if ur car doesn't waste that much gas well then use it but i recommend that you stayed as a cashier u won't have to past Thur hot weather or cold weather that much but its ur decision
Reply:I wouldn't.

How can I get a job in fedex as a delivery driver in Orlando , Fl.? Does anybody Know a contractor?
It depends on what branch of FedEx you would like to work for. There is fedex ground and fedex express. If you want to get a job at fedex express, then go to the fedex website and search careers and they will post all open positions. The driver position is very competitive so be ready for a long process including backround checks and drug testing. Fedex is an awesome company to work for so good luck.

Is pizza delivery a fun job?

is it?
Is pizza delivery a fun job?
i think so-- its a job-

=]=]]!!
Reply:Pizza delivery can be a fun job as it is fun to make tips. It gets you out of your place of work, and meet lots of different people. Depending on the restaurant, see if you have to wash floors and toilets too. Sometimes they use drivers as dishwashers to, and you have to do a lot of preps, cut pepperoni, cheese etc. Fun job but not always easy. You would be better to apply at a chain, Pizza Hut maybe, but just a Greek owned restaurant they try to get a lot of work out of you for what they pay. Also take into consideration the wear %26amp; tear on your car, and of course the horrible price of gas now, that you would have to pay.
Reply:If you like running your car into the ground.

Do not let your car insurance people know that you are delivering.

Be prepared as a new driver to go to work numerous times and be sent home before you start because it is slow.

Have fun.
Reply:I wouldn't think so. There are a lot of weird people out there out there that could get you into some dangerous situations. Also, if you live a place where there is snow it could make for dangerous driving not to mention the wear and tear on your car.
Reply:i think it is.:D you can get to go top different places, even to places you haven't been to in your town or city if you don't really go out that much. it is also offers a great opportunity to meet other people.:D
Reply:Ummm definitly not. You have to drive everywere (like bum's houses) and you waste ur gas money. Also you don't get paid alot.
Reply:Very good pay :)
Reply:Yeah, and good pay too. XD

What is a better job for a 20 year old female- delivery driver or waitress?

I want something with a lot of tips and a good paycheck... but then again I dont want to deal with the public (waitress) but then again i dont know how i feel about losing gas or miles on my car (delivery driver) and also the delivery driver - i could get like mugged or something cause it's just me alone... but then the job of a waitress is a lot to remember... so what is a better option?? I would also like to work weekdays in the mornings/afternoons and one weekend day.
What is a better job for a 20 year old female- delivery driver or waitress?
Waitressing is the better option simply because of personal safety. Very few delivery drivers are women.

If lots of tips and good pay is what you want, the decision has already been made for you.
Reply:Waitressing really isn't too hard as far as remembering stuff if you go to a smalle restaurant. The bigger it is, the more people, and more demand. So for your first one, try to find a smaller restaurant, maybe privately owned. I worked at a popular, 12 table beach restaurant over the spring/summer, and the money was incredible. It does involve interaction, and it takes getting used to, I'm not much of a people person, so the first couple weeks were tough. But you get used to it... it sort of turns into your "work personality". Do what you have to to get the tips. Smile, joke, whatever. But the money is much better than delivering, and quite a bit safer.
Reply:Waitress. It is safer for you to be in a Restaurant serving people than in a car alone making delivery runs. You could get robbed, raped or murdered. Or all three.

As far as hours, you take what they have available. If you want to set your own hours, open your own restaurant. Otherwise you work the shifts they give you. And do so without complaining and missing work and eventually they will offer you another shift.
Reply:Delivery driver is way too dangerous.
Reply:Waitress! It's what I do. Plus, it could help you get used to dealing with the public.
Reply:Hi well I think a waitress would be a better job for you if you work in a good restaurant like Chillis, The Olive Garden or something more high scale you will make a lot of cash. If thats not the thing for you would you be intrested in working from home as a customer service rep or something? You can go to FTD.COM they hire at home customer service reps. depending on where you live or you can go to WESTATHOME.COM better yet if this kind of work intrest you go to WAHM.COM and see what work at home companies are hiring. They are legit I work for a couple with these gas prices!!!!! One more thing I work for a number of mystery shopping companies you can make some quick fast cash in minutes most of the time. If you could use an extra 2 or 3 hundred a week check out marketforce.com. Want a job that you can choose your own hours and work when you want? Check out CROSSMARK.COM I have worked with them for almost a year now. They pay every friday direct deposit. You have to go to different stores and do all kinds of stuff like placing stickers on products or performing resets (thats when you go into a store and move stuff around to make it look more appealing to customers) its easy and the pay is good they also offer benefits they also pay you for mileage so the gas you use they pay you back for some of it. so check em out. Good luck in your search make sure you find something you really like. Good Luck!!! Hope this helps

How can i get a newspaper delivery job?
Keep your eye out in local newspaper shop windows and your local newspaper, there are often advertisements in them. Also, ask in your local newsagents, you may get in just before they put an ad up. I think you have to be over 12, so make sure you are! Good luck xxx
Reply:I used to work in a news agents the best thing to do is visit the news agents and leave your details then the news agent will get back to you

Sometimes there is a waiting list so it might take time
Reply:Jessica. You have to be 14. Visit a couple of local newsagents and see if there are any vacancies.Leave your name and address ,and phone so they can contact you if anything turns up.The local free papers also use delivery boys and girls .Look in your local free paper to get their address and phone No. and try them.Again leave your details with them. There will probably be some opportunities as existing boys and girls have their holidays and reliefs are needed. It is this time of year when there are vacancies. 16 year olds go to college and can no longer do their rounds as the hours don't suit This means people like you can take their places.
Reply:Check for any adds in your local paper, also next time your at your nearest post office ask if they have any newpaper delivary jobs. You have to be over 12 though.
Reply:If you are 13 or over just walk into your nearest newsagents and ask.
Reply:Go to the local newsagent and ask or put your name down till something comes vacant. They are always asking for them near me.

Is delivery driving at dominoes a good job?

I heard it's easy and there are lots of tips
Is delivery driving at dominoes a good job?
Sounds good to me: You deliver pizzas (in a car, presumably), so listening to the radio is a plus; the tips can be very good; you get pizza (and wings?) at a discount.
Reply:Decide for yourself, although i didn't mind my job a few years back. had to pay some bills.

Upsides to the job are: you chill in a car and deliver food that smells good, you get tips that only you know about, it's a low stress job, it's a no brain-er of a job, it's a job you can do for extra cash and never feel locked into, it's a job you can drop at any time, you get free pizza, and you may meet some cute girls on a delivery!

Downsides: Everyone knows you work for dominoes, if you live in CA - the gas prices suck here, the company may or may not reimburse your gas cost, you can run into some punks that wanna stiff you, most people give shitty tips (but tips are tips man, it's still xtra $) and lastly you gotta search for addresses at night - which sucks of it's dark.
Reply:a mate did this and used his own car got paid per mile delivery ..got stopped by traffic cops saw all the pizza etc in the back ready for delivery and he wasnt insured to use his car for that type of work as it was only insured for social domestic and pleasure not for carrying food distrubution and had to stop doing it he was cautioned and his reg and driving details took down

he no longer delivers
Reply:Yeah, its easy, but you know a lot of delivery men get robbed.

They get beat up or something, cuz people dont want to pay the money. Though, it is a fairly easy job.
Reply:sure it is! if you get payed its a good job. plus your right you do get good tips

Pizza delivery for a part-time job for a college kid?

What do you think about pizza delivery? I'm going to be a junior in college next semester and it seems like a decent job to do this summer. I'm going to summer-school so the only jobs I would be able to work would be evening jobs. Is there anything that sucks doing pizza delivery?

It's a franchise store. My roommate works there right now. It's 1 mile down the road from our place. He makes pretty good. It's in a real rich neighborhood(million dollar houses) so he gets decent tips from some people but some are still stingy($1, lol). You think it'll be good?
Pizza delivery for a part-time job for a college kid?
i started delivering in college too man. it was just for some extra cash, or so i thought. it got kind of addicting. i was like you, said it wouldn't last that long, just through college. i never saw myself doing it for a living.

i just had my 36th birthday and i'm still delivering pizzas. started dating the girl that worked behind the counter and we've been married for 10+ years now. i now deliver pizzas to kids of people i use to deliver to in college.

Reply:Without question the largest complaint I have heard about pizza delivery is that companies don't reimburse for the wear and tear to your vehicle. There are also heartless people that don't even believe in tipping pizza deliverers. try to get on part time in a restaurant with killer food and a long wait on the weekends. the tips can be very lucrative, and your car sits in the parking lot the whole time.

Reply:Yo, it's a good gig. I did it when I was in college. A couple of tips:

1. Always carry a flashlight.

2. Always carry a Mapsco.

3. Make sure you have a mobile phone.

4. Get a good radar detector. Cops love to give delivery drivers tickets!

and last but not least...to get the maximum tip...

Before each shift make about 5-10 "tip" dollars.

What is a tip dollar?

Take any dollar, and wrinkle it up. Dip it in grease. Grind dirt into it. Tear it apart and tape it back together with electric tape. Get it as DIRTY AND RATTY LOOKING as possible. Then when you have to give people change, always include two or three "tip" dollars. They will always get a disgusted look (usually asking "Where did you get THIS money?") and hand it back to you. If they ask for different money, just tell them you don't have any. Say you only carry $20 and that those are the only ones that you have.

It works every time! Even cheap b*stards hate accepting that filthy money. Plus you can turn around and use the same "tip" dollars on your next delivery. I went from averaging $25 a night cash to making at least $100 using this method.

Adeliver job is always a very pleasent job for you to do infanct every job is a very pleasent job, is just that how you take it that's all. When you are getting tips from the customer this is something aside from your salary. Well after I left school I started to work in a fast food restaurant whereby it is a drive thru restaurant and I have learn something on how to attract the customer wo loves to come and see me to just by the food and give me tips. My way was when ever you deliver a pizza or food you just wish them and also greet them after paying like '' thank you sir/mam and have a nice day'' when I started to used this particular sentence it really work for me and the customer give tips which my minimum was RM 1.00 and the highest I got was RM 40 from the customer, so although you get $ 1.00 or any amount which the customer gives just take it happily and jsut say those sentence. Question about a delivery job?

How old do you have to be to be a delivery person for a food shop?

How do you know how to get to the address that ordered the food?

What do you do if there is no delivery order at the moment?
Question about a delivery job?
It is legal to deliver at age 14. You would use a bicycle to get thru traffic and not get slowed down. If a drivers license is required, then you must be 16..

Sometimes the delivery guy helps to "prep" food in the back for the cook. Other times you just sit and read a magazine..

How much extra does it cost on your car insurance to use your car in your job, such as delivery driver in UK?

If you are using your vehicle for delivery, you probably need commercial plates and commercial insurance on it. Ask your agent.

to your policy. if you are using your car as your business..i.e.delivering parcels, then that would constitute a business in the eyes of the vultures and cost you a fortune!!! this is why a lot of companies pay a reasonable rate to 'contractors' to do their deliveries, and mini cab firms make their drivers pay their own insurance..hope this helps.brian

Pizza delivery job requirements ?

I just got my license and the guy at pizza hut said they were hiring delivery guys, do you have to be driving for a certain amount of time before you can get the job, what are the requirements?
Pizza delivery job requirements ?
as long as you have a print copy of your drivers license and social security number info.

they keep the license copy and just type your social security number into the computer.

in some pizza huts you must be 18 or older to be a driver.

they can find out if you are younger becasue after your social security number is inside the computer, the computer will know and not give you access as a driver when you clock in.

thats how they did it at our carryout/delivery unit when i was a shift manager.

my mother was a manager for 23 years for pizza hut.

till it was time to run away, lol!

hoped this helped, good luck.

Reply:Your an Ideal candidate. Fresh record = clean record.

I have been a delivery driver since I was 18. (Currently 27)

But a clean record is all that is required. And insurance. Make sure your insurance covers you while you are working, most insurance companies don't cover you while you are on the delivery job clock.

If your insurance carrier doesn't cover this, talk with the company first and ask if they have insurance coverage. Some places will have some kind of insurance that does this. I have never worked for pizza hut, but being that they are one of the largest (if not thee largest) pizza franchise in the world, I would think they have some kind of insurance coverage.

The only real problem is if your a minor. If you are under 18, you are gonna have to make sure your work permit covers it.

On the weapon thing, you don't need to carry one, if you are living in a relatively safe town. That's more of a need for the big city boys. However, the weapon can just find you in more trouble. Companies will beat it through you to just surrender to muggers demands, as life can not be replaced, and hospital bills outweigh a few pizzas and a hand full of greenbacks

The previous poster mentioned this btw, just because some carriers are at a high mugging risk, depending on where they are. Most places have policies in place to prevent this. (such as not delivering to unlit homes, unmarked homes, parks, etc) There is also the callback. Calling the customer back assures you have their contact information, so should it be a set up, there's substantial evidence to go with.

I just recommend having a cell phone as your absolute must have tool.
Reply:I don't think so. You just need to have a license and know a little bit of local geography. But the best way to find out, we'll be through them. But if they're not mentioning anything about it, then don't bring the subject to them.
Reply:Nope, you'll get the job. If you have to use your own car, they should give you gas money. Oh, %26amp; be sure to carry a weapon.
Reply:You HAVE to have a GREAT STEREO in your car. That is very important! I remember that as being the most important thing when I delivered pizza way back when!
Reply:you have to know how to drive, thats tha first requirement
Reply:just apply and they will let you know

I need suggestions for good early morning jobs while attending school (4-10am). No paper delivery. Gas is $$.?

I am going to school during the day and have a disabled child in the evening so I can only work 4-8am reliably and I have some flexibility to 12pm on some days. Any suggestions for jobs? I have applied at the coffee shops around here to no avail. I have tried bakery to no avail. I asked about delivering papers and they make you pay your own gas, so that would leave me with very little left over for the week. Any other suggestions?

If you start a new job after getting pregnant, will your employer's insurance not cover delivery?

Someone told me that if I start a new job after I get pregnant, the company's insurance will not cover anything pregnancy related because the baby was conceived before I started working there. Is that true?
If you start a new job after getting pregnant, will your employer's insurance not cover delivery?
Generally it's safe to assume this is true. However, each individual insurance company may not follow this policy. I had super insurance in the past and they would have covered anything - no matter what.

Check into your policy and talk to them. Find out before assuming. Best Wishes!
Reply:HIPPA laws changed that.

If you already have health insurance, then all you need is a letter from the previous insurance company showing that you've had continuing coverage until the new insurance goes into effect. If you've got that, they are required by law to cover the pregnancy.

If you've allowed your insurance to lapse before getting the insurance at the new company, then the pregnancy falls under "pre-existing condition" for which you usually have to wait a year before the new company has to cover it (which in the case of pregnancy, you will have already given birth by the time this exclusion period is over).
Reply:More than likely. It is called a pre existing state or illness. Most companies have a grace period before the insurance starts and you will not be covered during this time or for any illnesses or circumstances that come up during this time or before. The only way I can see you maybe getting around this is if you haven't been to a doctor to confirm pregnancy until after you insurance comes into affect. That would probably be dependent on what the policy says. Good luck.
Reply:It depends on the company. In the are where I live most of the insurance companies do not consider pregnancy as a pre-existing condition. I started my job after I found out I was pregnant and everything was fine. The only compication was I had to go out on extended leave of absence due to pregnancy complications and my long term disablity didn't kick in because they saw it as being preexisting. Best bet is to check with the insurance company. If the employer you are starting work with knows you are pregnant already ask them...they will find out and you have 30 days to sign up and 30 days for your hubby to drop the coverage at his job. Good luck!
Reply:this is not always true, you need to read the medical plan. I started a job when I was 4 month pregnant and my policy states that pregnancy is not a pre-existing condition when there are more then 50 employees! I am lucky, I have only a $15 co-pay and will only have to pay about $1,100 out of pocket. Prior to me starting this job I had no insurance at all. So don't rule out that you will not be covered, read the documents or call the insurance company and find out.
Reply:It depends on the companies pre-existing condition policy. If you had insurance before you got pregnant and will just transfer companies when you transfer jobs they will often cover your pregnancy. If however you didn't have insurance before your new job they will probably say that your pregnancy is a pre-existing condition and refuse to cover you.
Reply:She is correct, your pregnancy would be considered a pre-existing condition and anything resulted from it would not be covered. That is assuming you have "maternity" coverage, check with the provider because a lot of times, "maternity" coverage is not generally provided, but an "extra" that you can add on. And also every insurance provider is different so check with them about their insurance when interviewing. Good Luck!
Reply:Depends on if you were covered before by another insurance. The insurance that we have won't cover pregnancy immediately, you have to be on the policy for 10 months before your maternity coverage kicks in. It all depends on the insurance company and plan that your employer is signed up for.
Reply:Pregnancy should ALWAYS be covered regardless of whether it's a pre-existing condition or not. You're still entitled to prenatal care for the best care of your baby and the insurance should completely cover it.
Reply:That is correct, they call it a "pre existing condition". The way to get around that is not to tell, and go for a gyno exam when you start your new job.
Reply:It depends on the insurance companies policy. Most of them cover maternity care only after a year of carrying your policy.
Reply:You will fine. On a group plan they can not rule out pre existing condition. Just sign up and don't say anything about being pg. I did that on my husbands and everything is fine.
Reply:Since you are getting so many opinions, you should ask to see a copy of the insurance policy before you join a new company.
Reply:Usually that is true because its a pre-exsisting condition.
Reply:Yes, generally true.
Reply:That's correct. It's normally considered a 'pre-existing condition' and is not covered.
Reply:This is true. You will need to seek outside insurance if you already knew you were pregnant.
Reply:correct
Reply:NO! Not true.

By law pregnancy cannot be considered pre-existing and has to be covered my the insurance company!

ETA ~ For the 5 of you that thumbed me down!!!

A limitation or exclusion of benefits for a condition based on the fact that you had the condition before your enrollment date in the group health plan. A pre-existing condition exclusion may be applied to your condition only if the condition is one for which medical advice, diagnosis, care or treatment was recommended or received within the 6 months before your enrollment date in the plan. A pre-existing condition exclusion cannot be applied to pregnancy (regardless of whether the woman had previous coverage), or to genetic information in the absence of a diagnosis. A pre-existing condition exclusion also cannot be applied to a newborn or a child who is adopted or placed for adoption if the child has health coverage within 30 days of birth, adoption or placement for adoption and does not later have a significant break in coverage. If a plan provides coverage to you through an HMO that has an affiliation period, the plan cannot apply a pre-existing condition exclusion. A pre-existing condition exclusion can not be longer than 12 months from your enrollment date (18 months for a late enrollee). A pre-existing condition exclusion that is applied to you must be reduced by the prior creditable coverage you have that was not interrupted by a significant break in coverage. You may show creditable coverage through a certificate of creditable coverage given to you by your prior plan or insurer (including an HMO) or by other proof. The plan can apply a pre-existing condition exclusion to you only if it has first given you written notice. If your plan has both a waiting period and a pre-existing condition exclusion, the exclusion begins when the waiting period begins. In some states, if plan coverage is provided through an insurance policy or HMO, you may have more protections with respect to pre-existing condition exclusions.

Catalogue and newspaper delivery job?

How much do people get paid to deliver catalogues and/or local papers like the Leader? Also, how long does a delivery round take to complete? If anyone has done this before, I'd love to hear general feedback about any problems they faced, or any tips to improve the job. Are certain distribution companies better to work for than certain others? Since I'm looking into this seriously, I'd love to hear any information at all. Thanks for answers to any of these questions :)

Lin, I would not place your hopes on this!

Seriously I did it with a friend once, we delivered papers for about 3 hours and got $10!!

You get paid per paper, so I guess if you are really keen you could make a bit of money, but not heaps.

Me and my friend were so peeved, we ended just throwing a big pile of them in the rubbish! (Probably dont do that!)

How much math is involved in a pizza delivery job?

A lot...If you make a delivery and the total is $12.45 and they give a $20 and want you to keep $2 what change are you going to give them?

It won't look to good to be whipping out a pocket calculator. This will happen about 90% of the time. Rarely will no math be involved.

What are the benefits of a job description and how it may contribute to the delivery of the service?

i'm studying Cert.III in community services (childcare assistant). this is a question from the study guide "participate in the work environment". i saw a similar question and hope that this is enough extra info.
What are the benefits of a job description and how it may contribute to the delivery of the service?
If you give your staff a job description, then #1 that gives your staff perfect direction of what is their responsibility and what is not. #2 because then if your staff comes to complain about one of their duties, you can pull out the employee handbook and let them know that they agreed to the job description when accepting the job offer.
Reply:I answered this before. You can find this answer by looking up KSA's in IO psych. Io psych is an entire field dedicated to your question. Simply type in IO or KSA and read why your description has impact beyond the hiring process. This will require a little work on your part but will be research (objective) based and not opinion (subjective) based. Many people have spent countless hours in IO delving into this very subject. Good Luck!!!

I'm pregnant and quitting my job. Will Cobra cover the rest of my prenatal care and delivery?

I'm pregnant and quitting my job. Will Cobra cover the rest of my prenatal care and delivery?
JL -

Thanks. We the taxpayers enjoy paying for your kid.

Why did you get pregnant if you cannot afford to take care of it.

bldrdr-

COBRA should cover your costs ..but as was said, it is expensive. You are probably looking at $800 - $1,000 a month (estimate)
Reply:You should apply for Medicaid. Cobra is so expensive, you have to pay almost what your company pays for you to have insurance plus administrative fees. I already was paying $180 a month when I was employed and then with Cobra is was over $600 a month.

If you apply for Medicaid you won't be denied (maybe if you make too much money). I applied and got accepted in two weeks. They should make a rush on your application since you are pregnant. I am not sure what state you should apply for it, now or when you move.

If you still not wanting Medicaid or don't get accepted you could probably find insurance with maternity coverage for an individual and it would be less than Cobra. Also an insurance company can't deny you since your pregnant, its not considered a predisposed issue.

Hope that Helps!!
Reply:I would apply for medicaid. I am in the same situation only I am quitting to be a stay at home mom. I just got accepted for medicaid and I haven't stopped working yet. good luck. if you have questions you can e-mail me. jacquelinelittle@yahoo.com
Reply:Your company has to offer you cobra when you quit, but it something you will pay out of pocket for, and can be very expensive.

Job Application Form: How to prove "Commitment to high standards of service delivery"?

Hi all!

I am a 2nd year UK student I will be going on placement next year. I really like one job offer, but I am struggling with this single question.

_____________

Please provide brief details to confirm you have the following requirements:

鈥?Commitment to the provision of high standards of service delivery

_______________

I got the whole application completed but I am stuck on this question and have no idea what to write. Please help me out!
Job Application Form: How to prove "Commitment to high standards of service delivery"?
I'm guessing this is a question about customer service, so you might say something like the following:

Consistent dedication to high standards of customer service is imperative. Working with diligence, high attention to detail, and a sense of urgency, customer happiness is the ultimate goal.
Reply:Give an example of either how you have gone above and beyond the requirements of your job to assist a customer or if you haven't had the opportunity to do so, then how you would go above and beyond. Also, put down personality attributes like concerned, attentive to the needs of others, etc.
Reply:you could talk about your "time" spent at a previous job,

have you been told that you have great customer/people skills?

have you ever been recognized for your punctuality, team work,

have you recieved an award/certificate/aknowledgement for any work related "tasks"?

what they are asking is for you to "prove" that you are commited to and capable of providing the best customer/consumer service ever imaginable. . .

as i said,

just talk about previous work experiences, and success while there,

you could have a previous employer vouch for you ,

ask if they would like to check out a referance from previous employment/employer.

good luck

Which is better for pizza delivery job?
I'm sure each location is different, but I used to work at Papa Johns and I really liked it. They have high company standards, and are easy to work with. You don't get screwed over, and usually have quite flexible hours. I started out at 9.00 and over a year was up to 13.00 an hour. As for Papa John's I don't have one near me so I have no clue.
Reply:never worked at a pizza joint before, no idea,

But I would guess Domino's. because its frequently ordered. and relatively cheap. so you may make better tips !
Reply:papa johns.... it costs more... so the people who buy it will generally have more money... and those with more money possibly tip better!
Reply:I think Dominos pays better hourly....my cousin used to deliver Dominos Pizza loooong time ago...$11/hr plus tips...if I remember correctly..
Reply:papa

cause i dont know it just taste better
Reply:Pizza hut just went down on their reimbursement rate. Typically, it runs on a scale. For example, if the gas price is A in zip code 1, then the pay per run will be x in zip code 1. All of the scales have been reduced though.

You would think in an economy where gas is an increasingly rare commodity, pizza delivery franchises would be more concerned with their drivers and turn-over ratios.

Domino's has a larger delivery area on average than both Pizza Hut and Papa Johns, and that would substantially hurt one's gas cost. Maintenance and oil changes would assuredly be in order quicker than most other franchises.

I recommend starting local, with a non-franchise, negotiable pizza establishment to get a general feel for the full economic thrust that gas prices can cause. It would seem that local chains, without the binding rules of a corporation, would be more flexible to an adapting and ever chaning economy.
Reply:they are all the same
Reply:Just remember many insurance policies don't cover damage done to cars that were used for business. Most policies insure cars that are driven for personal reason thus if your insurance found out that you were hit while on business they may not cover you. You might want to check with your insurance agent to see if they will cover damages done to your vehicle while delivering.
Reply:i'd say papa johns just because they get good discounts and probably make more profit considering all the schools in my area use papa johns even though dominos and pizza hut are in the area.
Reply:papa johns..better pizza better delivery.

yum yum yum.
Reply:Pizza Hut. It's is just the best. The crust is really crispy, all their ingredients are all fresh, and it's like America's best pizza. It's about an average price but with like $9.00 you'll have the pizza of your life!
