If I take a job as a pizza delivery guy, can I write off my milage and gas for tax purposes?

I have bought a new car and my old car is just sitting there. I am going to give it to my niece in about 8 month but I figured I might as well use it. I was thinking about moonlighting at nights and on the weekend to get some summer cash. In light of the gas problems, I would think finding delivery people would be difficult for businesses.





So my question is, can I write off (get back money at the end of the year) car expenses for a pizza delivery job? Could I write off my car insurance? Could I right off my car payment? Or would I have to establish a company in order for the pizza delivery place hire me as a business conducting a driving service? This is all new to me.

First I'd only recommend you do it if the area of the store is high end homes or a tourist area. If the place is in a economically depressed area it's not going to be worth doing, especially with the price of gas.

Reply:I know when my mother was a home health nurse she got to get a percentage back, but she had to keep all reciepts for gas, toll booths, repairs ect. call your local tax place like h%26amp;r block thats who she went through
